My ideas are expressed through the media of printmaking and artist’s books. Some of my work explores place and time and reflects my interest in the resonance of particular places in personal memory.

I often use the intricate and demanding media of wood engraving and linocut. I love the intensity of black and white, influenced by the illustrations of the classic fairy tales I loved as a child. I’m fascinated by the world of childhood memory and imagination.

I make my work to express my own ideas and preoccupations but I consider it most successful when I discover that it has communicated directly to another person.
